I used to find it frustrating meeting people who knew exactly what their mission was in life – great for them, but for me it made me feel like I was still dabbling in life.
Then over time, as I became more engrossed in my business, my community and learning about who I wanted to serve most, my mission came to me loud and clear.
Back then as the Suitcase Entrepreneur I wanted to ‘help 1 million people create freedom in business and adventure in life.’.
I came to that mission as it felt meaningful and doable.
I realised I wouldn’t directly impact 1 million people, but indirectly I could impact a few hundred or thousand, and together we could all teach and share our learnings.
I got to this number as a result of the number of downloads my podcast was getting per month, the number of people watching my videos, the number of people on my email list, reading my blogs, reading my book and sharing my work.
It felt tangible and also a big hairy audacious mission to work towards that got me out of bed every morning.
A very big side effect of setting this mission is it made it crystal clear to me what I needed to do every single day to make it happen and it stopped me from taking on a million other things that didn’t serve my mission.
Strike forward to now and after much reflection, reading, writing and remaining curious, I’ve hit on my mission for the next 5 years.
I reveal it in this video and would love to know if it resonates with you.
