Eps 76: How to Overcome Imposter Syndrome with Tara Wagner

Imposter syndrome is real. It’s alive and kicking and left unchecked, it can be seriously debilitating to your hopes and dreams. So what is it and how do you overcome imposter syndrome and kick it to the curb?

You might have experienced imposter syndrome yourself. Do any of these scenarios sound familiar?

One minute you’re totally in flow, on top of the world and so proud of that epic blog post you just wrote, and the next minute you’re like ‘what if they find out I’m a fraud and I don’t actually know what I’m talking about?’

You’ve been invited to speak at a big event on the topic you’re passionate about, you’re all set to take the stage and suddenly you think you to yourself: ‘Oh my god, I can’t do this, who am I think I can pull this off. I don’t even know what I’m talking about?!’

Or even better, you’re deep into writing your first book, the one the publisher you landed can’t wait to publish. Then suddenly you get paralysed by what other people might think of you. You’re worried they’ll find out that you’re not even really a writer, which makes you a fraud right?

And just like that, your self-confidence goes down the drain, and you stop what you’re doing and quit.

Lady, you are not alone.

I’ve had more bouts of imposter syndrome in the last 3 months than in the last three years. And do you know why?

If you don’t overcome imposter syndrome, it continues to rear it’s ugly head most often, when you’re on the edge of growth. When you’re stepping into uncharted territory and into your biggest, boldest and most beautiful version of yourself and your work!

I’ve come to see imposter syndrome as a clear sign that I’m doing the right things, that I’m doing the work that will make a real impact, and that I’m more than ready for the next stage, even if I don’t feel like it.

You are not alone, and it’s entirely natural to get a case of the imposter syndrome, which isn’t a medial issue by the way, it can just feel like you need some serious treatment.

That’s why I bought in the wonderful Tara Wagner, to talk about what these feelings you’re having really are, and how you can overcome imposter syndrome and realize your full potential.

Tara Wagner is a Belief Breakthrough Coach and for the last 10 years, she’s been passionate about helping entrepreneurs understand and deal with the imposter syndrome so that they can get their heads, hearts, and habits straight so they can reach their goals and become their best version of themselves.

In this episode, Tara and I are both here to help you stop these limiting thoughts, beliefs and feelings from holding you back, so that you can instead feel confident and driven to achieve your dreams.

If you’re ready, let’s dive in!
