Your business is on a path to PROFIT, baby! It’s a fierce creation, lovingly made by you, and it is POWERFUL. But only if it knows where it’s going. Correction. Only if YOU know where it’s going. And that’s exactly why you need my One Page Profitable Business Plan.
It blows me away that people do not have a road map for their business. A business plan is quite simply a great investment of your time. It allows you to earn more, work less, and be free. In fact, I believe it so much, that I talk about it A LOT.
And I hear those excuses:
“Nat, I just don’t have time”, “I have too much work to do, Natalie”, “I hear you, Natster, and I’ll do it someday…just not today”, “I don’t need a business plan, Natalie, what are you talking about? I’m making money already.”
That’s all great. Congrats. Good luck on your journey to nowhere cos that’s exactly where you’re heading.
Too much? Let me tell you something, hot stuff. You deserve more. Simple.
And I’m not writing this to give you all the answers and tools without you putting in some work of your own.
I know what you’re thinking: Writing a business plan is time-consuming. Who has the time to sit and write a whole book, when there is shit to get done?
To which I say: 1 PAGE. That’s it. Your business plan can be 1 page. That’s why it’s called the ‘1-Page Profitable Business Plan.’
Getting Clarity in Your Business Model and Path to Profit
There are many ways to do this and you need to do what works for you. The key to it succeeding is to take action and actually write it out. Heck, even the New Zealand government is like, get that business plan going, people!
You might have a clear picture in your head of where you’re heading. But writing down what you’ve been carrying around in your head makes it so much more tangible and instantly clarifying.
Each year I intend to make my progress bigger and better – both personally and professionally, and I do this in just one hour or less (granted I do lots of thinking beforehand, and then I simply translate these thoughts onto paper, so I can put my business on a path to profit using the 1-Page Profitable Business Plan.).
Make sure you take 30-60 minutes to get that 1 pager written up – it doesn’t have to be perfect, but it’s a damn good start!
The Profitable One Page Business Plan
This week I want you to complete a simple 1 page business plan. Here’s how it works:
- Write out your mission – a sentence that gets you fired up on why you do what you do.
- State your top 3-5 goals max for the next year (make them SMART goals too – specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-bound).
- Write down at least one strategy per goal to achieve them – so they’re not just a pipe dream, you actually have a plan in place to make them a reality.
- Write out your Income Projections and very brief explanations of what makes up your revenue streams.
- Follow this with a section on Future income projection – all those things you really want to achieve that are part of your bigger vision.
- State your total projected costs and expenses and follow with a brief explanation, e.g $8,000 pa (rent), $9,000 (contractors), $700 (phone), etc.
- State your personal credentials (degrees, awards, etc) to remind yourself why you’re `worth it’.
- Finally, state your 2-3 areas of personal growth and skills you want to invest in this year such as coaching or courses.
Boom. You’ve put your business on a path to profit using the 1-page business plan.
Surprisingly, this all fits on one page – it’s meant to be a snapshot you can refer to every week to ensure you’re on track. You’ll also get your total income goal and profit goal, once you’ve done the simple calculations and put them in the boxes provided!
And SNAP! You’re on your way to creating your one-page business plan and path to profit. If you need an example to see this template in action, check out this video!
Along with the plan goes 2-3 pages to flesh out your strategies and revenue streams further, before you put them in the plan.
And because I think you are the bomb, I have a little summin’ summin’ for you:
It’s a PDF that you can actually fill out directly and then save. You’re welcome.
More Tips for Your Success
Make sure the goals you have set are realistic – if you have 20 on your list, that’s just a recipe for failure, especially if they’re all very grand.
If you put “Earn $1 million dollars in 2 years,” but have no strategies to get you there, then think again.
There’s no way you could lose 5kg in two weeks, run a marathon, start a second business, launch a product, write a book and travel for 6 months for example if you don’t have a plan on how to do that step by step.
But you can set monthly and quarterly goals that work towards your bigger goal of financial freedom or healthy eating habits for life that will ensure you don’t give up and instead make your dreams a reality.
And one more thing…if you’re looking for some crazy-amazing inspiration at the beginning of this brand new year, look no further, because I got what you need.
